What is the Oxford German British Conference?
The Oxford German British Conference is the premier UK-Germany student conference, held annually at the University of Oxford. Founded by German students studying at Oxford, the conference creates a trusted space for dialogue, bold ideas, and lasting networks between two of Europe's most influential nations.
Each year, we bring together students, academics, policymakers, business leaders, and diplomats to discuss the most pressing issues facing the UK-Germany relationship and explore opportunities for deeper bilateral cooperation.
The Kensington Dialogue
The 2026 conference focuses on reinforcing the Kensington Dialogue, building on the historic rapprochement between Germany and the UK through the Kensington Treaty. This landmark agreement has opened new avenues for cooperation in defence, trade, climate policy, and academic exchange.
Over three days, participants engage with a curated programme of keynote speeches, expert panels, and intimate roundtable discussions, all hosted in iconic Oxford settings that have witnessed centuries of scholarly debate.
